Raptor Trailer Kits are designed to replace the unsightly, bulky carpet-like material that people often use to cover trailer bunks and keel bulbs.
These kits, specifically designed for trailers used to carry One-Design boats, consist of pre-cut EVA foam pads which are both soft and extremely durable — making them ideal for use on trailer bunks, where hull protection is of utmost importance.
Although not all trailers for a particular One-Design are identical, they are similar enough that Raptor is able to provide a suitable one-size-fits-most pattern. In order to accommodate anomalous trailers, the Raptor trailer pads can be easily customized with a razor utility knife.
About the EVA foam material used in these Raptor Trailer Kits...
Surprisingly soft, yet incredibly durable, Raptor trailer pads come with a peel-away self-adhesive backing.
Apply them to the appropriate surfaces of your One-Design boat trailer.
Extensively tested, the pads are durable in terms of both foam integrity and color stability. With reasonable care, you can expect them to last for multiple racing seasons.
• Superior cushioning
• Does not absorb water
• Excellent UV resistance
• Ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA) closed-cell foam construction - similar in feel to a yoga mat surface
• Easy to clean with soap and water; use a soft bristle brush, if necessary
• Extensive warranty program
Reliable 3M adhesive backing makes for easy peel-and-stick application. Installation is much easier than products that require glues and extensive curing times. Bonds to metal, wood, gelcoat, and fiberglass.
Should it ever become necessary, Raptor trailer pads are designed to be replaceable - just peel or scrape them off. The adhesive is sticky enough to outlive the foam upper, but any adhesive residue can be easily removed using mild cleaning products. We recommend Mer-Maid’s Citrus Wonder, or 3M Citrus Based Adhesive Remover.
An aside — Here at Fisheries Supply, we installed some of the Raptor trailer pad material (in the form of one of their Step Pads) right at the entrance door of our retail store back in February of 2014. After 8 months of heavy foot and shopping cart traffic (it's now October), the pad is showing some small signs of wear - a knick or two around the edges - but is in remarkably good shape. Honestly, given how soft the Raptor feels, this amazing level of durability came as quite a surprise. We're very impressed. You should try it.
