Bainbridge track slides have been carefully designed to allow compatibility with the widest possible range of mast sections. Design and material selection lead to trouble-free use and maximum strength even under the most arduous conditions.
These tough, internal track slides are made of injection-molded Nylon 66. They are used to secure mains or mizzens to their spars to make lowering sails easier. Sail slides are typically secured ahead of the boltrope and inserted in the mast slot instead of the rope. Sail slides also keep the sail stacked in the slot when a sail track stop is used.
Slugs and slides are generally installed every 26 inches along the Luff edge and every 18 inches along the Foot edge of a sail. These internal, flat sail slides fit only rectangular slots that are designed for flat slides.
