The combination sandblasted drum with diagonal ribs is engineered for gripping smaller-diameter high-tech racing lines.
These winches are ideal for racing and performance cruising boats in the 30 to 55-foot range where sails require frequent trimming.
17-4 PH: Info and Care
17 equals Chromium content and 4 equals Nickel Content. PH stands for precipitation hardening. This grade is known for strength and heat tolerance, NOT corrosion resistance. Though it has some corrosion resistance properties it will require routine maintenance in saltwater environments. If you use a product made of 17-4 PH, you need to follow a routine maintenance schedule.
Plain-top winches are best handled by two crew - one to trim and one to tail the line.
