About Our Sails

Our standard sails are so good, at such a great price, people think there must be a catch.

We've been asked, were mermaids harmed? Did you tap the power of the Kraken? Does Neptune know about this? Is something wrong with the sail? How can you do this?

Rest assured our sails are great and there is no catch. And, while we can't confirm if mythical creatures were consulted, we can confirm none have been harmed by us. Here is how it works: There are 4 things that go into making a sail for you, we simply streamlined the process to pass the savings on.

1. Designing the sail

Our standard and practice sails are a high-performance cut and optimized with an airflow model to ensure they are efficient and fast. By creating standard designs for boats from 20 to 50 feet we are able to spread the design costs across multiple sails and pass the savings on to you.

2. Standard color spinnakers

By making spinnakers available in one solid color with a choice of red, white or blue we are able to save money in manufacturing and pass the savings along.

3. Standard cloth

All of our standard sails and practice sails are manufactured with high quality sail cloth. By standardizing we are able to buy in bulk and provide a high-quality cloth at a great price.

4. Low overhead-no commission

While we are ready and happy help or answer questions, we do not have commission salespeople. To be clear, there is absolutely nothing wrong with commission salespeople! In fact, there is a definite time when they are needed but our standard sails are just designed so you can make your own decision and we simply pass the savings along.

Our standard sails and practice sails are used in day sailing, long term cruising and club racing.
