Harken 18mm Fly Soft Attach Triple Block, 2180

Harken soft-attach Fly blocks are designed to provide strength beyond mass, providing big power in a low-aero package.

Designed specifically for high-tech lines, these efficient blocks have an incredible working load for their small size. 18 mm blocks feature an integrated stainless-steel inner race and rivet, stainless steel ball bearings, and composite fiber-reinforced side plates. Fly blocks are perfect for use on foiling dinghies and sport boats and for Vang cascades and backstay systems on Grand-Prix racers.

Triples feature composite line guides that are integrated into the block head. They keep the block aligned correctly by pushing the lashing line to the outer edges of the block's head.

High-Performance Fishing Tool: The triple is gaining traction as a high-performance sport fishing tool, generally placed on the “inside end” of the outrigger guiding halyards for trolling. The length of Spectra line is included. Spectra is a registered trademark of Honeywell International, Inc.

• The first Fly blocks were designed especially for Moth sailors who wanted a block that could withstand their new Vang load requirements in a 29mm package. The 29mms have 350KG ( 770lb) working loads. That’s 1.5X what a Harken classic block twice its size can deliver.
• 29mm and 40mm Fly blocks offer a combination of outer-race/sheave made from titanium.
• All Fly Blocks use stainless steel ball bearings so they’re hard and really hard to crush. Pull hard on the vang when you need the main to be flat.
